“Ἡ αἰτία ὁποῦ μὲ ἔκαμε νὰ συνθέσω ταύτας τὰς εὐχὰς εἰς τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν, ἀδελφοί, δὲν ἦτον ἄλλη, πάρεξ διὰ νὰ σᾶς παρακινήσω εἰς τὸ νὰ μελετᾶτε συχνὰ τὸ σωτήριον, καὶ γλυκύτατον, καὶ χαροπάροχον, καὶ πάντων τῶν καλῶν πρόξενον ὄνομα τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἱησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ὄχι μόνον μὲ τὸ στόμα, ἀλλὰ καὶ μὲ τὴν καρδίαν καὶ τὸν νοῦν σας. | The reason I composed these prayers to our Lord Jesus Christ, brethren, was none other than to urge you frequently to contemplate the salutary, exceedingly sweet, joy-bestowing name of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the cause of all good things, not only with the mouth, but with your heart and mind as well.”
