Translated from the Church Slavonic by Reader Isaac E. Lambertson, from the booklet published by the St. Job of Pochaev Press (Jordanville, N.Y.) in 1973
“Whether or not we are currently in a time of trial, this Akathist to Almighty God for Help in Trouble can be a source of healing and comfort to our souls, which are daily under assault from the fiery darts of the evil one (Eph. 6:16). I suggest that you consider reading it at least once a week, for two reasons: as a ‘maintenance medication’ against the various passions we regularly encounter in the trenches of our daily lives; and to build up a stockpile of ‘spiritual ammunition,’ from which we can receive additional courage and perseverance when we are faced with a definite crisis or major demonic attack.” —“Akathist to Almighty God For Help in Trouble”
