New Library, Volume Two: Summaries and discussions of thirty Books of or about Byzantine and modern writers, Greeks and Russians, in the fields of Philosophy, Literature, and Christian Religion.
| By Constantine Cavarnos
Volume Two of New Library
“The warm reception of Volume One of New Library encouraged me to proceed with the preparation of the second volume[...]. [...]All the texts that make up the present volume were written after the publication of Volume One of New Library in late 1989. [...]In preparing those that have already been published for inclusion in this volume, I have expanded them at certain points and improved them in other ways as well. The texts have been organized in seven groups and arranged under appropriate headings in seven chapters. The sequence in which the chapters have been placed for the most part follows the chronology of the authors and of the earliest appearance of the books discussed, except for the first chapter.” —“PREFACE”
